Tomatodo - Focus Timer & To-Do List App Reviews

Combining a Pomodoro timer and a to-do list is a great concept. I especially like how you can customize your Pomodoros (I prefer longer work periods and longer breaks). However, this app has a crucial quirk: the timer stops whenever the app loses focus or the phone goes to sleep, except if the phone is plugged in. In the settings, be sure to check "prevent screen lock" as otherwise the app wont run in the background.

some days the clock keeps ticking while the phone is sleeping (which is what I want) and sometimes it does not. but I don’t find out until I realize that the bell hasn’t rung in 45 minutes. I have “prevent screen lock” checked; no dice. Also hitting “edit” often makes the app crash and close, cancelling any ongoing timers in an unrecoverable way. Also you can’t pause the timer. Design-wise, this app is WAYYY better than the other 3 pomodoro apps I’ve tried.

Love this app. Keeps me focused at work. Eliminates the need of maintaining both a todo app and a pomodoro app!

Ok, so I downloaded the app because it was featured on a "free today roundup" (it was not). In theory it sounds great, but directions are scant. While I get the whole focused work, no distractions concept, life occasionally beckons, and it is simply not possible. Being unable to pause makes this pretty much unusable for many users. Hopefully this will get added along with some sort of manual. The developers website doesnt even seem to be the correct one for the app.

I would be sold on this app with one major flaw - no pause. Just like many say - the reality is that you will get interruptions . So get real and add a pause
